Have You Heard of The Waist-Fat Killer?

by Ashley

According to the BBC, a new report has been released that shows that a thick waist is sign of dangerous fat buildup around internal organs that can lead to type 2 diabetes and heart disease. The author Robert Maguire explains that this visceral fat is not even on people’s radar, and few people know that it even poses a problem.

Luckily, the report also warns that steady, sustainable weight loss cannot be successful by sticking to crash diets. The report’s co-author David Haslam, chair of the UK National Obesity Forum, states, “They can actually do more harm than good…Invariably weight is put back on, with some of the weight regained accumulating as visceral fat.”

In a few words, it is the weight around your belly that causes you the most harm.

So what are you gonna do about it? As always, I suggest beginning with a healthy eating and exercise routine as soon as possible, and seking friendly help and support whenever you can.

As for me, I guess I have to ‘lay off’ the rest of the fat around my waistline. [sigh]
