How to Get Fit for 2010

by Ashley

Starting today, a lot of people are going to be heading to the gym in order to shed those holiday pounds. Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson provides some great tips that I want to share with you to get fit in 2010. Here’s the gist -

You need to make specific goals – so instead of wishing to be thinner, you should say “I want to lose 25 pounds.” With these goals, you need to make them measurable and realistic. It is important for it to be doable for you to take baby steps along the way to meeting your goal, with the steps well tailored to meet your ability.

Anderson says resolutions should be fun. So it is great to workout with friends and schedule a day off every week. She gives a snap preview of three quick exercises you can do at home with your towel.

• UNDER ARM FLAB EXERCISE – Arm towel behind back palm to ceiling pulse start with 10 a day and work up to 100 to fight under arm flab by the spring.

• ONE BICEP AB COMBO WITH TOWEL – Lay flat on back legs straight out in front of you. One hand support head. Bend one leg into chest with towel wrapped around thigh and held in one hand. Use the towel to pull your knee to your face using the bicep. Crunch up when pulling leg in.

• BUTT BUSTER AND BACK FAT FIGHTER WITH TOWEL – Lay on side with one part of the towel under supporting elbow. Opposite end of towel in hand reaching arm straight up to the ceiling. Top knee of top leg touches the ground in front of you and extends behind on an upward diagonal while back slightly arches into movement.

As always, leave your opinion below.
