Practicing your Weight Loss Resolutions

by Ashley

I just put together a quick rap of some ideas to help you with your resolutions to lose some of that holiday weight gain.

You need to be very clear about your intentions – Getting fit doesn’t cut it. You have to be more specific about, say ‘losing 15 pounds’ in order to succeed.  Setting smaller, easily achievable goals will help motivate you to reach those bigger goals in the picture.

Keeping yourself accountable – Writing your goals down helps keep you committed. It helps to tell close supportive friends of your goal, a kind of ‘accountability partner’ to keep you on track. Also, a good personal trainer can help keep you motivated.

Seek moderation – It’s about sticking to those small steps and replacing previous indulgences with healthy alternatives. As you meet your small goals, celebrate your progress and keep making more small steps along the way. The key is making changes you can live with.
